Kevin Spacey sexual assault lawsuit overview:

  • Who: Actor Kevin Spacey has denied seven new counts of sexual assault filed against him.
  • Why: Spacey has been charged with a total of 12 counts of sex-related crimes that the embattled actor allegedly committed against the same male alleged victim.
  • Where: Spacey denied the allegations in the Southwark Crown Court.

Kevin Spacey has denied seven new counts of sexual assault that have been filed against him in Southwark Crown Court, bringing the total number of charges against the embattled actor to 12.

The new charges included three counts of indecent assault, or, more specifically, two counts of sexual assault and one charge of causing someone to engage in sexual activity without consent, reports Law360.

Spacey has also been charged with one count of sexual assault. All of the charges are against the same male alleged victim and include no fewer than 17 separate alleged incidents between January 2001 and June 2005.

The 63-year-old actor pleaded not guilty to sexual assault charges back in July while appearing at the Central Criminal Court, reports Law360.

The judge overseeing the case has reportedly granted Spacey unconditional bail, with the next court case for the Oscar-winning-actor scheduled for April 5 at Southwark Crown Court.

Spacey scheduled to face trial in June for all charges against him

Spacey, who appeared in court over a video-link, is scheduled to face trial for all of the charges filed against him in June, reports Law360.

Prosecutors for the Crown have reportedly charged Spacey with alternative counts due to some of the alleged sex crimes allegedly having been committed prior to when the Sexual Offences Act 2003 went into effect.

Spacey has been charged under the Sexual Offences Act 1956 for the alleged sex crimes that occurred between 2001 and 2005, reports Law360.

Last year, a federal judge in California approved a $2.2 million settlement made by James Franco to resolve claims the actor used his Studio 4 Film School in Los Angeles to exploit women students.

Franco had been accused of making women who attended the film school from between 2014 and 2017โ€”when the studio shut downโ€”engage in explicitly nude and sexual scenes.
