Sexual Abuse Survivor Resources
The period following sexual abuse or assault can be confusing and difficult. There are several organizations across the country that have resources to help individuals begin the journey to recovery — both national and local.
If an individual was abused while participating in an organization and the organization failed to protect him or her from sexual predators, he or she may be able to take legal action against that organization.
Below are some survivor resources that may be able to help individuals depending on their current needs.

National Sexual Abuse Survivor Resources
RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network)
RAINN is the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the country. RAINN has several hotlines and online resources to help those affected by sexual violence.
This includes the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline that will connect individuals with trained staff members.
Individuals may contact the hotline 24/7 via phone by calling 800-656-4673 or they may talk to a trained specialist through a LIVE CHAT.Â
RAINN also offers all of these services through its mobile app.Â
1in6
1in6 exists specifically to help men who have been sexually abused or assaulted.
1in6 provides a 24/7 helpline for men who have experienced sexual abuse or assault and for loved ones who are trying to help someone they care about who has experienced sexual violence.
1in6 also provides daily online support groups for male survivors.
Legal Network for Gender Equity
The Legal Network for Gender Equity provides legal help to those who face sex discrimination and sexual harassment at work, school, or when seeking medical services.
TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund
The TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund helps cover legal fees and other assistance for those who have experienced workplace sexual harassment.
Those seeking assistance from the organizations listed above begin by filling out and submitting an intake form.
