Crossbreed Holsters agreed to a $195,000 class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it failed to prevent a 2022 data breach.
The Crossbreed Holsters settlement benefits individuals who received a data breach notice from Crossbreed Holsters informing them the data breach, which the company discovered Dec. 5, 2022, compromised their information.
The data breach class action lawsuit claims Crossbreed Holsters failed to protect consumer information from the breach. The Crossbreed Holsters data breach allegedly compromised sensitive information, such as personal identifiers and financial account numbers.
Crossbreed Holsters is a gun holster company that sells holsters for a variety of gun models.
Crossbreed hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $195,000 settlement to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.
Under the Crossbreed Holsters settlement, class members can receive compensation for documented ordinary data breach-related expenses, such as bank fees, communication charges, travel expenses and credit-related costs. This payment can be combined with up to three hours of lost time at a rate of $35 per hour for a total reimbursement of $500 for ordinary expenses and lost time.
Class members who experienced extraordinary losses as a result of the Crossbreed Holsters data breach can receive higher payments of up to $2,500 for unreimbursed, documented monetary losses that were more likely than not caused by the data breach. This reimbursement category may include damages from fraud or identity theft.
Class members who did not experience any out-of-pocket losses can opt to receive an alternative cash payment instead of reimbursement. These payments will vary depending on the number of claims filed with the settlement. No payment estimates are available at this time.
Crossbreed Holsters also agreed to enhance its data security measures to better protect consumer information.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Jan. 9, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for March 11, 2025.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Jan. 9, 2025.
Who’s Eligible
Individuals who received a data breach notification informing them their information may have been compromised in the Crossbreed Holsters data breach discovered Dec. 5, 2022
Potential Award
Up to $3,000 or a pro rata payment
Proof of Purchase
Documentation of out-of-pocket losses, such as bank statements, phone bills, receipts, invoices, etc.
