Traumeel Heel Gel Homeopathic Ingredients Examined

By John Curran

Traumeel Gel HeelIf a person complains that Traumeel heel gel is a homeopathic scam, they would need some evidence to lend credence to that claim. It would help to start with the ingredients in the gel, which is designed to reduce pain in the heel through the use of various homeopathic ingredients. A review of four of the ingredients in Traumeel Heel Gel with the highest concentrations indicates some concerns about its formulation.

Deadly Nightshade

There are other names for the plant, but it has an interesting history before it made its way into the Traumeel Heel Gel. At higher doses, it operates as a poison when ingested. The plant also has cosmetic usages, yet a 2003 study of its effects reports that there is no clinical evidence of any impact on any medical condition.

Witch Hazel

Witch hazel is used in a number of products that have no links to homeopathic scam investigations. It is unclear why it would be used in an anti-inflammatory product. It is an astringent, which would allow it to tighten the skin. However, in the case of the Traumeel Heel Gel, there is no demonstrated use for it in bruising.

Notably, there are two ingredients that could be helpful; except the composition of the gel makes it unlikely they would do so in its preparation.

Leopard’s Bane

Scientists say that preparations with 50 percent of this herbal remedy can have a similar effect to ibuprofen, which would help people with heel pain. Unfortunately, the amount of it in Traumeel heel gel is so small it would be difficult for it to have any effect at less than 10 percent.

Marigold

This is another ingredient that has some backers in the scientific community. Preliminary research indicates that the flower, when prepared properly, could have anti-inflammatory properties. However, homeopathic fraud lawsuit attorneys would note that none of these were conducted on animals or even humans, so it may be a bit of a reach.

The active ingredients have problematic links to pain relief, and it would not be surprising for people to think that if it didn’t work, they were lied to by Traumeel.
