Seven Plaintiffs Join Yasmin/Yaz & Ocella Blood Clot Lawsuit

The Plaintiffs allege in the lawsuit that they suffered blood clots and other serious side effects while taking Yasmin, Yaz and/or Ocella. Bayer Corporation has been named as a Defendant in the Yasmin/Yaz lawsuit, which was filed at the California Superior Court of Los Angeles.

The Plaintiffs are seeking compensations for personal injuries and economic damages they suffered while taking the birth control pills. They believe a trial jury or a Yaz lawsuit settlement would help them get the compensation they deserve.

Hormone Blamed for Yaz/Ocella Stroke Side Effect

Drospirenone is a fourth-generation hormone claimed to be directly responsible for the injuries and side effects the plaintiffs suffered while taking Yaz, Yasmin, and Ocella birth control pills. The hormone is linked to elevated levels of potassium in the bloodstream, which may cause issues associated with the following:

* Blood clots
* Strokes
* Deep vein thrombosis
* Pulmonary embolism

Preliminary studies have shown an elevated risk factor associated with this hormone, which similar hormones used in older birth control pills may not have, including ones that have been used since the 1970s.

Though the women have been taking Yaz and Ocella at different times (at least a decade apart), they all have one thing in common: each have suffered side effects as a result of using the birth control pills and are seeking compensation in damages resulting from their injuries.

Deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, as well as other related injuries were all mentioned in their Yaz/Ocella lawsuit. The Plaintiffs also claim that Bayer knowingly put their birth control medication on the market without assessing the risks associated with the drugs.

The possibility of heart attacks, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, stroke, gallbladder conditions, seizures, even death are possible side effects of Yasmin and Yaz, which Bayer knew about or should have known about, the Yasmin lawsuit claims.
