Nature’s Way Primadophilus Bifidus Class Action Investigation

By Andrea Gressman

Nature’s Way Primadophilus BifidusProbiotics continue to grow in popularity as a natural, or “homeopathic,” remedy for many different health problems,  including constipation, digestive disorders, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and other gastrointestinal issues. Many probiotic supplements also claim to boost the immune system as well. However, some of these products are nothing more than expensive sugar pills, leading to a class action lawsuit investigation into probiotic supplement scams. One of the products being investigated is Nature’s Way Primadophilus Bifidus.

It is important to note that probiotics are not a scam by themselves. What does become fraudulent is when a homeopathic supplement uses highly diluted quantities of the bacteria they claim to use, which essentially makes the product the same as a placebo or a sugar pill. Another angle of probiotic fraud is when the manufacturer claims the benefits of the product are more than what the probiotic can deliver.

If you purchased Nature’s Way Primadophilus Bifidus you could have been another victim of this type of false advertising. The probiotic and homeopathic industry is currently a billion-dollar industry and to date there have been millions of dollars in settlements awarded to consumers who purchased homeopathic products believing what the product advertised.

How Do You Know is You Have Been a Part of a Probiotic Scam?

As mentioned above, probiotics themselves are not a scam. They are actually microorganisms that are found in both bacteria and yeast. They are then introduced into the body through either food items, such as yogurt, or supplements that are provided in many stores and across the internet, all with the claim that they will improve the user’s health. And some of the probiotic products do improve the individual’s health. In fact, there have been a number of researchers that claim some digestive disorders are the result of a bacteria imbalance within the intestines.

There are actually over 500 different bacteria types in the intestines and it is believed that this is an important balance to maintain. Probiotic supplements all claim to help with that healthy balance but several, like Nature’s Way Primadophilus Bifidus, have come under fire for not delivering their promised results.

Although Nature’s Way provides a “True Guarantee” for Primadophilus Bifidus that includes “true potency, true release, and true identity,” the fact remains that there are no regulations when it comes to the manufacturing of these probiotic products and, therefore, there really is no guarantee of what is going into the supplement or if it can meet the claims advertised.

If you purchased Nature’s Way Primadophilus Bifidus or another probiotic supplement and it did not deliver its advertised promise, you may be the victim of another probiotic scam.
