Natren Healthy Tummy Probiotic Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

By Andrea Gressman

Natren Healthy TummyIt was recently reported that a class action lawsuit investigation was opened regarding the effectiveness of Natren Inc.’s Healthy Trinity probiotic product. This investigation has also been extended to Natren Healthy Tummy probiotic supplements. These products have definitely capitalized on the consumer craze over probiotic products but it has been reported by a number of consumers that the probiotic supplements do not deliver when it comes to the manufacturer’s promised results.

Probiotics have gained a great deal of popularity across the United States in recent years. This is largely accredited to the health and fitness craze that has flourished for many Americans. As they look to live healthier lives and consume more organic and natural products, they are seeking other options to remedy health issues as well. Probiotics have become one of those options.

However, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not regulate these types of probiotic products. Therefore, there are no regulations of what exactly is going into probiotic supplements or how much is being used. So, a probiotic supplement manufacturer may use a quality type of probiotic but they may have diluted it down to such a point that it is completely ineffective and nothing more than a placebo. That then becomes a probiotic scam or probiotic fraud.

What is a Probiotic Scam?

Oftentimes probiotics are taken to help improve the immune system of the consumer as well as help them obtain a healthy digestive system. Probiotics have been proven through studies to provide benefits to the digestive health when taken properly. However, when manufacturers dilute the probiotics down to a point where they are virtually non-existent, that becomes a problem.

Another big problem in the probiotic industry is the fact that many of these probiotic manufacturers grossly exaggerate the results that the probiotic product can deliver. This is also considered a probiotic fraud or a probiotic scam and a number of consumers have filed a probiotic scam lawsuit or joined a probiotic supplement class action lawsuit as an attempt to recoup the investment they made when it came to purchasing the falsely advertised products.

Is Natren Healthy Tummy a Probiotic Scam?

Natren Healthy Tummy is described by the manufacturer as “The Dieter’s Probiotic Chewables.” They also claim their product provides “support for optimal digestion.”

Natren claims Healthy Tummy has 1 billion cfu Lactobacillus bulgaricus, LB-51 super strain and only five calories. The company goes on to make the claim that the probiotic supplement will “aid intestinal ecology for your healthy nutritional regimen.” They also provide a “100% potency guarantee through the printed expiration date” promise as well. However, there have been some Natren Healthy Tummy consumers that claim the product does not deliver on any of these promises and is nothing more than a probiotic scam. They have gone on to file a probiotic fraud lawsuit as a result.

If you or some you know purchased Natren probiotic supplements such as Healthy Tummy or Healthy Trinity, or a probiotic supplement made by another manufacturer, and you did not obtain the results promised, you may be eligible to participate in a class action lawsuit settlement. I have been having what feels like worms moving in my abdomin area / intestines now for over 8 years, which I attribute to when I bought and started taking Healthy Trinity probiotics in November 2008. I started noticing the movement in my intestines a couple of weeks after taking Healthy Trinity probiotics, so I opened one capsule up to see what was inside and to my astonishment a few filamentous worm like organisms emerged that moved around. I was very disturbed by this and stopped taking the probiotics and to this date, many years later, still feel the organisms in my intestine multiplying and causing havoc and I have gained a lot of weight as if these organisms feed on my nutrients. According to Natren the (lve) organisms are engineered as to not be destroyed by the acids in the stomach……..Well, they can not be killed by anything else either and these genetically modified strains of worm filament probiotics have multiplied in my intestine causing horrific havoc.
