Dangerous Ocella Side Effects Taken Seriously Overseas

In Sweden, men have known that taking a hair loss drug could lead to permanent sexual side effects. In France and Germany, a Type II diabetes drug has been pulled from the market. Now, in France, the equivalent of the federal Food and Drug Administration is calling for a massive reduction in the use of birth control options because of Ocella side effects.
The publicity of one woman’s stroke as a result of Ocella blood clots has certainly helped. While the agency is moving somewhat slowly, it is telling gynecologists over there that Ocella, Yasmin and Yaz stroke side effects are not worth the risk. It is not just cost, as newer generation drugs have now gone generic. The National Drugs Safety Agency there notes that there are safer options that have gone generic for years.
There is little that Bayer Pharmaceutical, as well as other drug makers, can do. If France decides to ban the sale of the product, they will do so with a speed unlike any seen in the United States. The new drive to limit the likelihood of Yaz stroke side effects will only limit the problems in Europe, of course. Hopefully, though, it will raise more awareness of clotting issues over in the United States.
Some have taken to calling the French measures, which would include not paying for the “Pill” beginning in October, going too far. On the other hand, Yasmin blood clot side effects are serious. When researchers note that they are slightly less likely than the risk of clotting during pregnancy, that’s of little solace.
When the birth control pills were introduced, many women had no idea that by avoiding becoming pregnant, they were facing some of the same problems they would have had they become pregnant.
