New Chemotherapy Hair Loss Complaint Added to Taxotere MDLAnother patient has added a chemotherapy hair loss complaint to the growing MDL against Sanofi-Aventis, the makers of Taxotere. Taxotere is a popular breast cancer treatment given to women, but many of those women say that they had no idea their chemotherapy hair loss would be permanent when they began the course of treatment.

Plaintiff Kimberly C. is the latest breast cancer patient to add her concerns about permanent chemotherapy hair loss to the consolidated litigation against the makers of Taxotere. She says that she was never told that her hair loss would be permanent, a condition she alleges has caused her emotional injuries.

The plaintiff in this chemotherapy hair loss lawsuit says that she received the Taxotere treatment between May 2010 and August 2010 in Missouri.

The claim added to the MDL on behalf of this patient says that the patient has already experienced and continues to experience the devastating permanent loss of her hair directly as a result of using Taxotere for the treatment of breast cancer.

The newest claim added to this MDL brings forward the allegations on numerous counts against maker Sanofi-Aventis, including failure to warn, negligence, fraudulent concealment, and fraud and deceit.

While chemotherapy hair loss is a common side effect, plenty of the patients who received the Taxotere treatment say that the risks and warnings about the permanence of this hair loss, or alopecia, were never presented to them

These women say they have now experienced chemotherapy hair loss that has extended beyond their initial treatment and made it impossible for them to regrow hair all over their body. Most women complain of permanent chemotherapy hair loss from Taxotere impacting their scalp and eyebrows, an issue they say has made it difficult for them to move on and live life normally.

These women allege that Sanofi-Aventis had a responsibility to discuss the risks of permanent chemotherapy hair loss in the risk profile of the treatment, and that in failing to do so, harmed women who say they did not ever learn about the permanence of hair loss.

Cases might be consolidated into multidistrict litigation (MDL) when there are many different claims arguing the same general problems against the defendant. This is the case in the chemotherapy hair loss MDL against Sanofi-Aventis, especially since the women involved in the suit have all experienced some form of permanent hair loss.

These women say that time has passed since the end of their chemotherapy treatment without any improved ability to grow hair, causing them emotional pain and serving as a constant reminder of their previous cancer diagnosis and treatment.

These women contend that the maker of the product knew or should have known about the risk of long-term and permanent hair loss but failed to tell patients or the medical community about the true risk of alopecia.

This Chemotherapy Hair Loss lawsuit is Case No. 2:18-cv-10938-JTM-MBN, in the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana.
