Xarelto bleeding hemorrhageA Delaware woman recently filed a Xarelto life-threatening bleeding lawsuit against Janssen Pharmaceuticals, alleging the company’s anticoagulant caused her husband’s death.

The plaintiff, Almetia M., filed the lawsuit against Janssen on behalf of her deceased husband Millard M., who allegedly died of Xarelto life-threatening bleeding.

According to the Xarelto lawsuit, Millard began taking Xarelto in Feb. 2013 and continued until Nov. 9, 2014, when he suffered from a brain hemorrhage that ultimately led to his death on Nov. 12, 2014.

After her husband’s untimely death, Almetia turned to filing a Xarelto lawsuit against Janssen.

This lawsuit is a part of an MDL, or multidistrict litigation, which consists of multiple Xarelto life-threatening bleeding lawsuits.

Xarelto Life-Threatening Bleeding

Xarelto (also known by its generic name, rivaroxaban) is a relatively new anticoagulant, just approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2011. Xarelto was approved to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism.

This Xarelto life-threatening bleeding lawsuit and others like it allege that a series of clinical trials well known in the medical community has revealed a link between Xarelto and major bleeding events. The studies indicated that Xarelto had a significantly higher rate of life-threatening bleeding complications than other drugs.

Xarelto lawsuits claim that Janssen was not only aware of these studies and the Xarelto life-threatening bleeding risks, but failed to report these major bleeding complications as significant adverse effects. On top of this, the plaintiffs allege that Janssen failed to adequately warn consumers and the medical community about the major bleeding risk associated with Xarelto.

Despite the manufacturer’s alleged knowledge of these risks, the company continued to market Xarelto in a manner plaintiffs describe as negligent and misleading, diminishing the concern over the serious risks of the drug.

Almetia filed this Xarelto bleeding lawsuit on multiple counts, including but not limited to manufacturing defect, design defect, failure to warn, negligence, breach of express and implied warranties, negligent misrepresentation, fraud, and loss of consortium, among several others.

Xarelto Life-Threatening Bleeding Lawsuits

Xarelto is currently facing hundreds of Xarelto life-threatening bleeding lawsuits filed by and on behalf of patients who, after taking Xarelto, have experienced gastrointestinal bleeding, brain hemorrhaging, or other adverse events.

These Xarelto lawsuits claim that the drug makers failed to be completely transparent in the warnings for their product and the Xarelto life-threatening bleeding side effects. These cases also allege that the drug maker should be held accountable for not providing an approved antidote that could reverse the medication’s effects, given the Xarelto life-threatening bleeding side effects many claim to have suffered.

If you or someone you know has experienced Xarelto side effects such as Xarelto life-threatening bleeding, you may be able to join a Xarelto bleeding lawsuit.

The Xarelto Life-Threatening Bleeding Lawsuit is Case No. 2:17-cv-03702-EEF-MBN, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
