Boehringer Ingelheim, the makers of the blood thinner drug Pradaxa (dabigatran,) are reporting strong growth in 2011. Boehringer Ingelheim’s growth continues to accelerate even with Pradaxa class action and personal injury lawsuits increasing (and more are filed every week.) Boehringer Ingelheim reports their revenue grew by 6.2% to more than €13.2 billion.
Pradaxa, Boehringer Ingelheim’s latest blood thinner drug, is a large part of their growth. Boehringer Ingelheim’s Prescription Medicine grew by 8.2% and accounted for 77% of their total net sales. Boehringer Ingelheim’s growth is faster than the world pharmaceutical market which only grew by 4.6% in 2011.The blood thinner drug Pradaxa accounted for €629 million in sales for Boehringer Ingelheim in 2011 and Pradaxa sales don’t seem to be slowing even though it has been linked to more 123 deaths. The 123 deaths connected to Pradaxa just include those reported in the first half of 2011 and with the amount of sales seen that year it is expected to grow significantly.
It’s interesting to note that Hubertus von Baumbch (member of the Board of Managing Directors for Boehringer Ingelheim) stated that the launch of Pradaxa (dabigatran) in 2011 “is among the most successful market introductions in the pharmaceutical industry in the past few years.” There is no mention of the allegations that Pradaxa may cause severe internal bleeding and hemorrhage that could require hospitalization or may even result in death. There is also no mention of the internal bleeding and hemorrhage class action lawsuits and personal injury lawsuits which are being filed across the country. Multiple Pradaxa class action lawsuits have already been filed and may be enjoined together in federal court. In addition, personal injury attorneys across the United States have filed dozens, if not hundreds, of lawsuits alleging that Pradaxa is behind the internal bleeding, hemorrhaging, and even deaths of patients.
If you would like more information about filing a Pradaxa internal bleeding class action lawsuit or a Pradaxa hemorrhage personal injury lawsuit just go to the Pradaxa Internal Bleeding Class Action Lawsuit Investigation page. There you can submit your information to attorneys who are actively investigating all claims regarding internal bleeding, hemorrhage and other problems which may be attributed to Pradaxa.
