Thousands of Telsa Model 3 and Model Y cars are the subject of four recalls issued this week by the electric carmaker over seat belt safety concerns and issues with loose brake caliper bolts.

Two of the Tesla recalls issued Thursday affect more than 7,000 2018 through 2020 Model 3 and 2019 through 2021 Model Y cars. The recalls were issued over concerns about seat belt security – a potentially dangerous vehicle safety defect

One of the recalls concerns the shoulder belt in more than 5,500 Model 3 and Model Y cars, according to a notification sent by Tesla to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The notification says that the front shoulder belts in the recalled vehicles may not be properly attached, reports Reuters

In addition, more than 2,100 Tesla Model Y cars were recalled over concerns about the left and right second-row seat belt retractor fasteners.

Tesla told the NHTSA that it has not received any reports of injuries due to the safety belt recalls. The carmaker says it will inspect vehicles and provide a repair, free of charge, if necessary.

Telsa faces a recall issued in China Thursday as well. The carmaker recalled 700 Model 3 vehicles, according to the country’s State Administration for Market Regulation, due to concerns about seat belts or tires, reports The Hill

One day before, the electric automaker recalled nearly 6,000 2019-2021 Model 3 and 2020-2021 Model Y cars due to potentially loose brake caliper bolts.

If the caliper bolts become loose, the recalled Teslas could lose tire pressure, increasing the risk of an accident, said the automaker in documents submitted to the NHTSA. No injuries or accidents have been reported. Tesla owners are encouraged to bring the recalled vehicles in for a free inspection and repair.

Top Class Actions will continue to monitor Tesla recalls and others related to dangerous vehicle safety defects.
