Subaru agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it equipped certain Subaru vehicles with defective windshields that crack easily.
The Subaru settlement benefits current and former owners and lessees of 2019 to 2022 Subaru Ascent, 2019 to 2022 Subaru Forester, 2020 to 2022 Subaru Legacy and 2020 to 2022 Subaru Outback vehicles.
According to the Subaru windshield class action lawsuit, Subaru equipped certain vehicles with defective windshields that crack easily. Despite knowing about the alleged windshield defect, Subaru reportedly denied warranty coverage and forced drivers to pay out of pocket for windshield repairs.
Subaru is an automotive company that sells vehicles around the world.
Subaru hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the windshield class action lawsuit. The automotive manufacturer agreed to a similar settlement for fuel pump problems in 2024.
Under the terms of the Subaru settlement, class members can receive an extended warranty for qualifying windshield cracks experienced on or after Feb. 5, 2025. The extended warranty will cover one windshield replacement within eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
The settlement also provides cash reimbursement for out-of-pocket payments for parts and labor associated with repairing qualifying windshield cracks in Subaru vehicles. These costs must have been incurred prior to or within the 45-day period following the issuance of the settlement notice and before the expiration of the extended warranty period. No payment estimates are available at this time.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Feb. 15, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the Subaru windshield settlement is scheduled for April 21, 2025.
To receive a cash reimbursement, class members must submit a valid claim form by Jan. 31, 2025. No action is required to benefit from the settlement’s extended warranty.

I have something coming from this today. Doesn’t look like a denial… But doesn’t look like a check either. Has anyone else gotten anything from them?
Denial
What about Radio issues, my radio was already replaced once in 2022 Forester but there still seems to be an ISS e, and my friend also has a 2021Subaru that the radio went bad
Was driving my subaru forester wensday January 15 2025.heard a noise looked and saw my windshield crack. There was no visible chip before it happened.
It’s not a manufacturer issue, it’s a LOCAL DOT issue.
