Saatva has agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it charged some Missouri customers too much sales tax on their purchases.

The Saatva settlement applies to individuals who purchased a tangible item from Saatva.com between June 21, 2018, and June 18, 2024, where the order was shipped to a Missouri address from out of state and a sales tax rate higher than the vendor’s use tax rate was charged.

Plaintiffs in the Saatva class action lawsuit claim Saatva charged some Missouri customers more sales tax than it should have for products purchased on the company’s website and shipped from out-of-state locations. As a result, Missouri customers allegedly overpaid sales tax.

Saatva is an online mattress retailer that sells a variety of mattress types, including innerspring, memory foam and hybrid mattresses.

Saatva has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the sales tax class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of this Saatva class action settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the amount they were charged above the vendor’s use tax rate on their qualifying purchases. Payment amounts will vary depending on the amount charged compared to the vendor’s use tax rate, the number of eligible class members and the amount in the settlement fund. Payments will be adjusted proportionally to ensure all class members receive a payment.

If any funds remain in the settlement after payments are distributed, the money will be donated to The OneSight Foundation, subject to court approval. No remaining funds will be returned to Saatva.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Nov. 3, 2025.

The final approval hearing for the Saatva class action settlement is scheduled for Dec. 11, 2025.

No claim form is required to benefit from the Saatva class action settlement. Class members who do not exclude themselves will automatically receive a settlement payment.

Who’s Eligible

The class action settlement benefits Missouri residents who purchased tangible personal property from Saatva.com between June 21, 2018, and June 18, 2024, when the item was shipped from outside Missouri to a Missouri address and a higher sales tax was charged than the rate specified in the settlement.
