OpenGov agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it failed to disclose wage scales and salary ranges in job postings.
The OpenGov class action settlement benefits individuals who applied for a job opening in Washington with OpenGov between Jan. 1, 2023, and Feb. 25, 2025, where the job posting did not disclose the wage scale or salary range and/or did not provide a general description of all of the benefits or other compensation for the position.
According to the OpenGov wage scale class action lawsuit, OpenGov failed to disclose wage scales and salary ranges in job postings as required by Washington law. This failure allegedly violated Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunities Act.
OpenGov, a government budgeting and transparency software company, has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the OpenGov class action settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund.
Exact payment amounts will vary depending on the number of participating class members. Class members should be aware that settlement payments will be considered non-wage damages by the Internal Revenue Service and may result in a tax liability.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is May 26, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the OpenGov class action settlement is scheduled for July 9, 2025.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by May 26, 2025.
