North Oklahoma County Mental Health Center, also known as NorthCare, agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims surrounding a 2021 data breach.

The settlement benefits individuals whose personal information was, or may have been, accessed or acquired in the NorthCare data breach on May 29, 2021.

According to the class action lawsuit, NorthCare failed to protect consumers from a May 2021 data breach that allegedly compromised sensitive personal information.

NorthCare is a mental health center in Oklahoma that provides a variety of services to the community.

NorthCare has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the NorthCare settlement, class members can receive up to $2,000 for out-of-pocket expenses related to the data breach. These payments cover financial losses, identity theft damages, credit expenses and more.

Class members can also receive $100 for up to five hours of lost time at a rate of $20 per hour. This lost time compensation is available for time spent dealing with identity theft, fraud or other issues related to the data breach.

Class members who did not experience financial losses or lost time related to the data breach can still benefit from the settlement. These class members can receive a flat payment of $125.

All class members, regardless of whether they experienced losses or lost time, can receive three years of free credit monitoring services through the settlement.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Sept. 12, 2025.

The final approval hearing for the NorthCare settlement is scheduled for Dec. 15, 2025.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 11, 2025.
