Journeys agreed to pay $855,000 to resolve claims it violated TCPA with unsolicited telemarketing texts.
The settlement benefits consumers who received one or more text messages from Journeys between Dec. 21, 2017, and May 9, 2023, after sending a “stop” message or other opt-out request.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim Journeys sent unsolicited telemarketing texts to consumers even after they opted out of receiving such messages. These texts allegedly violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
Journeys is a shoe retailer that sells shoes for men, women and children.
Journeys hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $855,000 settlement to resolve the TCPA class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive a cash payment of up to $161.47. Exact payment amounts may vary depending on the number of participating class members.
The deadline for exclusion and objection was July 21, 2023.
The final approval hearing for the Journeys class action lawsuit settlement is scheduled for Aug. 22, 2023.
In order to receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 21, 2023.

How do you check your number? I know I’ve had journey texts but don’t remember when they were. I am not sure if I’m in this or not and I don’t want to sign up for it and be wrong. I don’t know what to do.
