The settlement benefits individuals who received marketing text messages from JK Buick after requesting to not receive them. Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim these messages violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

JK Buick hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $130,000 to resolve the TCPA class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the JK Buick settlement, consumers can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. Each class member is estimated to receive around $1,300, though actual payments may be higher or lower depending on the number of participating recipients.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is June 24, 2024.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Aug. 5, 2024.
No claim form is required to receive benefits from the JK Buick settlement. Class members who do not exclude themselves will automatically receive a settlement payment.
