NextFoods agreed to a $1.25 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that it misrepresented GoodBelly Probiotic JuiceDrink products with misleading health claims, and no proof of purchase is required for consumers to make a claim.

The settlement benefits consumers who purchased all flavors of GoodBelly Probiotic JuiceDrinks sold in 1-quart (32-ounce) containers between Aug. 13, 2017, and Nov. 27, 2023.

According to the false advertising class action lawsuit, NextFoods falsely claimed that GoodBelly juice drinks could help promote digestive health and “overall” wellness. These claims were allegedly false and misleading because the sugar in the juices can reportedly lead to serious health concerns.

GoodBelly is a probiotic food brand owned by NextFoods. GoodBelly sells probiotic juice, powders, yogurts and other products.

NextFoods hasn’t admitted wrongdoing but agreed to a $1.25 million settlement to resolve the false advertising class action lawsuit.

Under the settlement terms, class members can receive a cash payment based on the number of GoodBelly products they purchased.

Each product purchased will result in $1 in compensation. Class members with no proof of purchase can claim up to five products for a maximum payment of $5. There is no cap for class members who have proof of purchase.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Jan. 29, 2024.

The final approval hearing for the GoodBelly Probiotic JuiceDrink class action lawsuit settlement is scheduled for March 11, 2024.

To receive settlement payments, class members must submit a valid claim form by Jan. 29, 2024.

  2. Laughable says:

Some of the crooked settlement administrators are going out of their way to make the claims process as hard as possible. They are now asking for your personal ID in order to get paid. I will never give my ID to any settlement administrator. In my opinion, they are not doing it to prevent fraud but to keep most of the settlement money. And I never understood how they always wanted receipts for many claims from 2–10 years ago. Who keeps receipts that long? I qualified for bigger settlements and received payments and NEVER had to upload my personal ID. And for a payment of 5-15.00, I will not.
