A Califia Farms non-dairy class action settlement will provide $3 million in payments for consumers who purchased certain coffees, coffee creamers, almondmilk or other products.
The settlement benefits consumers who purchased certain eligible Califia Farms non-dairy products between Aug. 7, 2014 and March 20, 2020. A full list of eligible products is available in the “Who’s Eligible” section below.
Several plaintiffs filed their Califia Farms non-dairy class action lawsuit in September 2019. The consumers claimed that the brand’s almondmilk products were deceptively marketed as containing vanilla. Instead of real vanilla, the products allegedly contained artificial vanilla flavoring derived from tree bark or lignin.
To support their claims, the plaintiffs reference the Califia farms non-dairy product ingredient lists which reportedly includes “natural flavors” instead of vanilla ingredients.
“’Natural flavor’ refers to ‘the essential oil, oleoresin, essence or extractive…which contains the flavoring constituents’ from a natural source such as plant material and can refer to combinations of natural flavors,” noted the Califia Farms non-dairy class action lawsuit.
“The declaration of ‘natural flavor’ in products represented as characterized by vanilla refers to a combination of flavors from real vanilla and non-vanilla natural sources, such as tree bark or lignin.”
Califia Farms has not admitted any wrongdoing but has agreed to resolve the claims against them in a settlement.
With proof of purchase, Class Members can claim up to 15 product for $1 each. Without proof of purchase, Class Members can claim up to 10 products for $0.50 each.
Payment amounts per unit will be reduced on a pro rata basis if proof of purchase claims exceed $2 million or non-proof of purchase claims exceed $1 million.
In order to benefit from the settlement, Class Members must file a valid claim form by Oct. 7, 2020. Claims may include proof of purchase in the form of receipts of Califia Farms non-dairy product purchases.
The deadline for exclusion or objection is June 11, 2020. The final approval hearing for the Califia Farms non-dairy class action settlement is July 9, 2020.
Who’s Eligible
Consumers who purchased certain eligible Califia Farms non-dairy products between Aug. 7, 2014 and March 20, 2020.

Potential Award
Up to $15.
With proof of purchase, Class Members can claim up to 15 product for $1 each. Without proof of purchase, Class Members can claim up to 10 products for $0.50 each.

Proof of Purchase
Not required, but those who can provide a receipt showing their Califia Farms non-dairy product purchase will receive a higher payout.

Unfortunately, we were unable to identify you as someone who may have purchased certain Califia Farms brand dairy-alternative milk, cold brew coffee, non-dairy creamer, yogurt, and/or yogurt drinks from August 7, 2014 through March 20, 2020.

I received a check for $1.50 today. I originally claimed 10 at .50 each.
I received a check fir 2.50
I received .50 cents. That was more than postage and the paper took to print it. What a rip off and fraud. Smgdh ?
