Consumers could receive payments from an Assurance IQ settlement resolving claims it violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act with unsolicited robocalls.
Final approval for this class action settlement was granted Sept. 28, 2022.
The settlement benefits individuals who received phone calls from Assurance IQ using an artificial or prerecorded voice between Oct. 1, 2018, and March 6, 2024.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim Assurance IQ placed these calls without consent in violation of the TCPA.
Assurance IQ is an online health care insurance marketplace that provides quotes from multiple insurance providers.
Assurance IQ hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $21.875M TCPA settlement to resolve the class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the Assurance IQ settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. Payment amounts will vary depending on the number of valid claims filed. No payment estimates are available at this time.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is July 31, 2024.
The final approval hearing for the TCPA settlement is scheduled for Sept. 3, 2024.
To receive anAssurance IQ settlement payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by July 31, 2024.

I bought 2 items on EBAY this summer for around $700.00 sale price. the regular price was over $800.00 . I live in Pa. where the sales tax is 6% on the selling price. EBAY sold these items for factory authorized outlet out of Ca. and charged me an extra $10.00 & change for my sales tax. I called Factory Authorized outlet and told them they overcharged me on the sales tax , they told me EBAY does the billing so I called EBAY (3 times) to recover the overcharge and was told thay would turn it over to the tax dept. and get back to. Its bin about 4 months and they never got in touch with in any way. I thought if they did this on a regular bases they could br making millions. So what do think is their a case.

Item proceeded to be cashed twice in a four month period. Bank persuaded to seek damages by deducting settlement funds from checking account with no authorization. Currently holding claim in their back office. They have yet to see the reason to be more efficient.
