Mount Sinai Health System has agreed to pay more than $5.2 million as part of a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it shared patient information with Facebook.

The settlement benefits individuals who logged into their Mount Sinai MyChart account through mychart.mountsinai.org between Oct. 27, 2020, and Oct. 27, 2023.

According to the class action lawsuit, Mount Sinai Health System shared patient information with Facebook through the use of tracking tools, such as the Facebook Pixel. Plaintiffs in the case say this practice violated their privacy rights.

Mount Sinai Health System is a New York-based health system that provides care to more than 1.5 million patients each year.

Mount Sinai has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $5,256,588 class action lawsuit settlement to resolve the allegations.

Under the terms of the Mount Sinai settlement, class members can receive a cash payment.

Exact payment amounts will vary depending on the number of claims filed with the settlement. No payment estimates are available at this time.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Oct. 14, 2025.

The final approval hearing for the Mount Sinai class action lawsuit settlement is scheduled for Oct. 24, 2025.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 14, 2025.

Mount Sinai MyChart account holders who logged into their MyChart accounts through mychart.mountsinai.org between Oct. 27, 2020, and Oct. 27, 2023.
