Consumers can receive payments from a $5.085 million U-Haul settlement if their information was compromised in 2022 or 2023 data breaches.
The settlement benefits California residents whose personal information was compromised or potentially compromised in a U-Haul data breach in September 2022 or December 2023.
According to the U-Haul data breach class action lawsuit, the moving and storage company failed to protect consumer information from two data breaches in 2022 and 2023. These cyberattacks allegedly compromised consumer names and driverโs license numbers.
U-Haul is a national moving and storage company.
U-Haul hasnโt admitted any wrongdoing. The company has agreed to pay $5.085 million to resolve the U-Haul data breach class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the U-Haul settlement, class members can receive a pro rata monetary payment. These payments are estimated to be around $100 per claimant. However, actual payment amounts may be higher or lower depending on the number of valid claims filed.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Sept. 16, 2024.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Oct. 23, 2024.
Class members must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 15, 2024, to receive UHaul settlement benefits.

Please add me as I have used them several times in the last few years
Iโve had several Uhaul accounts in different states. One was supposed to be under seclusion and non publishable.
Please add me to this settlement as well.
Add Me To The Claim. Ive Had A Storage Unit In California Since 2010..
Please add me
Why is it only California?
Please add me
How can we file a claim if we have not received a notice, and donโt have a claim number
Iโm in California and have a Uhaul account that I last used in 2021 and is still active. Why have I not received anything to file?
Me too, how do we get a claim number, so that we can file?
I guess if you live in the other 49 states youโre screwed.
I was just thinking the same thing myself. Why is it just linked to California? Anyone whose ever put their Uhaul order in online knows they have a national database. So if California residents info was breeched, so could have anyoneโs in any other state. This should be a nationwide class action for sure.
Because someone in Cali filed a suit.
This means you can join in on their suit. Itโs a class sction. Many people can join
So, if we live in Texas we can join
