Oglethorpe has agreed to a class action settlement capped at $350,000 to resolve claims that a 2025 data breach compromised sensitive consumer information.
The Oglethorpe settlement benefits individuals who received a notice from Oglethorpe informing them that their information may have been compromised in a data breach in June 2025.
According to the data breach class action lawsuit, Oglethorpe failed to protect consumer information from a 2025 data breach. The Oglethorpe data breach allegedly compromised names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers and medical information.
Oglethorpe is a mental health and substance abuse treatment provider based in Florida.
The company has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $350,000 as part of a settlement to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the Oglethorpe settlement, class members can receive a cash payment. Class members who experienced documented losses as a result of the data breach can receive up to $2,500 in reimbursement for identity theft, fraud, credit expenses, ID replacement costs and more. Class members who did not experience documented losses can receive a one-time cash payment of $75. However, this payment may be reduced on a pro rata basis depending on the number of claims filed with the settlement.
All class members can receive one year of free medical data monitoring services through CyEx Medical Shield. These services include $1 million in medical identity theft insurance along with monitoring for healthcare insurance ID exposure, medical record number exposure, unauthorized health savings account spending and more.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is June 8, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the Oglethorpe data breach class action settlement is scheduled for June 22, 2026.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by July 8, 2026.
