Momentum Solar agreed to pay up to $30 million to resolve claims it violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) with unsolicited telemarketing calls.

The Momentum Solar settlement benefits consumers who received two or more telemarketing calls from Momentum Solar within a 365-day period between March 5, 2015, and Jan. 2, 2025. Current and former customers of Momentum Solar are not eligible for the settlement.

According to two class action lawsuits, Momentum Solar violated the TCPA by contacting consumers with unsolicited telemarketing calls. Plaintiffs in the case say they never gave the company permission to contact them and should never have received Momentum Solar calls.

Momentum Solar is a solar energy company that provides solar panel installation and other services. The company may have contacted consumers in an effort to sell its services over the phone.

Momentum Solar has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay up to $30 million to resolve the allegations. The company will make a $1 million initial payment within 90 days of the settlement’s final approval. The company will make additional payments over the next 15 years, bringing the total settlement amount to up to $30 million.

Under the terms of the Momentum Solar settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the number of Momentum Solar calls they received. Class members can claim and receive compensation for up to 50 calls. No payment estimates are available at this time.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is July 28, 2025.

The final approval hearing for the Momentum Solar settlement is scheduled for Aug. 18, 2025.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by July 31, 2025.
