Bell Ambulance agreed to a $2 million class action settlement to resolve claims it failed to prevent a 2025 data breach that compromised sensitive consumer information.
The Bell Ambulance settlement benefits individuals whose private information was accessed in the February 2025 Bell Ambulance data breach.
In February 2025, Bell Ambulance suffered a data breach that compromised sensitive consumer information, such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial information and medical information.
According to a class action lawsuit against Bell Ambulance, the company could have prevented the data breach through reasonable cybersecurity measures. The plaintiffs argue that Bell Ambulance failed to protect their information through negligence and other unlawful acts.
Bell Ambulance is an emergency medical services company that operates in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Bell Ambulance has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $2 million class action settlement to resolve the allegations.
Under the terms of the Bell Ambulance settlement, class members can receive a cash payment and two years of free credit monitoring.
Class members who experienced documented losses as a result of the data breach can receive up to $5,000 in reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses, such as identity theft, fraud, credit fees and ID replacement costs.
Class members who did not experience documented losses can receive a one-time pro rata cash payment. These payments are estimated to be around $90, but may be larger or smaller depending on the number of claims filed.
All class members are eligible for two years of free credit monitoring through CyEx Medical Shield Complete. This service includes $1 million in medical identity theft insurance and other benefits.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is June 15, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the Bell Ambulance settlement is scheduled for July 14, 2026.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by June 29, 2026.
