
Five Star Bank agreed to a $29.5 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it failed to provide proper notice after repossessing vehicles.
The Five Star Bank settlement benefits individuals whose vehicles were repossessed by Five Star Bank and who were sent specific forms of notice between May 16, 2011, and Sept. 30, 2021.

Five Star Bank is a financial institution with locations in New York and Pennsylvania. The bank offers a variety of services such as personal loans, business loans and mortgages.
According to the class action lawsuit, Five Star Bank violated Pennsylvania and New York law by failing to send proper notices.
The bank has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $29.5 million class action settlement to resolve the allegations.
Under the terms of the Five Star Bank repossession settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the amount they paid on their repossessed vehicle loan. Payments will vary, but class members can check their estimated payment on the settlement website.
Class members may also be eligible for additional benefits, including credit reporting relief and the elimination of disputed deficiencies.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Oct. 13, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the Five Star Bank repossession settlement is scheduled for Nov. 4, 2025.
No claim form is required to benefit from the settlement. Class members who do not exclude themselves will automatically receive settlement benefits.
