UnitedHealthcare has agreed to a $2.5 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) with unsolicited robocalls.
The UnitedHealthcare settlement benefits individuals who received a non-emergency telephone call from UnitedHealthcare between Jan. 9, 2015, and Jan. 9, 2019, who were not UnitedHealthcare members or third parties authorized to receive calls on behalf of members.
Eligible calls may have been sent by UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare and Retirement Non-Licensed Retention Team, Community and State National Retention Team or Medicare and Retirement Collections Team using either the Avaya Pro Contact or LiveVox IVR dialing systems.
The class action lawsuit alleged UnitedHealthcare placed unsolicited robocalls to consumers without their consent in violation of the TCPA, which requires companies to get express written consent before calling consumers with robocalls. Additionally, call recipients claim that they were not UnitedHealthcare members or authorized parties for a member and therefore had no reason to receive these calls.
UnitedHealthcare is a health insurance company that offers a variety of plans to consumers.
UnitedHealthcare hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $2.5 million settlement to resolve the TCPA class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the United Healthcare settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. According to the settlement website, payments could be between $350 and $1,000. Exact payments will vary depending on the number of participating class members.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is April 15, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the TCPA class action lawsuit settlement is scheduled for June 20, 2025.
In order to receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by April 15, 2025.

Please add me.
I was affected by the robocalls for several years. The website to file a claim is invalid?
It seems like Jeffy there has a smart mouth and hides behind the computer all day. Stop puting your sarcasm in to play when you need to help people with your krackjack box education
I also had this insurance company. Add me also.
This is not a lawsuit over illiteracy. How many people read the article and believe they qualify because they were UHC customers? It looks like half of the people who left a comment can’t read.
I know I absolutely qualify for this but every time I enter each number I have had it tells me the number isn’t correct but they have called me so much it’s ridiculous! An I know each time they had to have sold my number because even when I only had them as my insurance company an the only ones whom had my new number I ended up getting phone calls from other companies !
