CVS agreed to a $1 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that its eye drops were recalled due to unsanitary conditions at a manufacturing facility.
The CVS eye drops class action settlement benefits consumers who purchased certain CVS Store Brand Lubricant Eye Drops, Lubricant Gel Drops, Multi Action Relief Drops and Mild Moderate Lubricating Eye Drops between Oct. 1, 2021, and Oct. 25, 2023.
According to the class action lawsuit, CVS was forced to recall its store-brand eye drops after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found unsanitary conditions at the eye drop manufacturing facility in India in late 2023.
CVS is a pharmacy and drugstore chain with locations across the United States.
CVS has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $1 million class action settlement to resolve the allegations.
Under the terms of the CVS eye drops class action settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the number of products they purchased and whether they have proof of purchase.
With proof of purchase, class members can receive a payment equal to the amount they paid for the products they purchased, multiplied by the corresponding time-discount rate.
Without proof of purchase, class members can receive a pro rata cash payment based on the number of products they purchased. Class members without proof of purchase may not receive a cash award for more than three products.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is July 11, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the CVS eye drops class action settlement is scheduled for Aug. 18, 2025.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by July 11, 2025.
A separate but similar class action settlement has been reached over Similasan eye drops. The deadline to file a claim for the Similisan class action settlement is Oct. 15. 2025.
Who’s Eligible
Consumers who purchased certain CVS-branded eye drops between Oct. 1, 2021, and Oct. 25, 2023.

Varies according to proof of purchase.

A receipt or other documentation that reasonably establishes proof of purchase.
