Consumers whose information was compromised in 2022 and 2023 Cash App data breaches could benefit from a $15 million settlement.

The settlement benefits current and former Cash App customers whose account and personal information was obtained without consent or who experienced fraudulent withdrawals or transfers between Aug. 23, 2018, and Aug. 20, 2024.

According to the class action lawsuit, Cash App failed to protect consumers from two data breaches in 2022 and 2023. The 2022 breach reportedly involved an employeeโ€™s unauthorized access to Cash App Investing accounts, whereas the 2023 breach involved a third partyโ€™s unauthorized access using recycled phone numbers.

Cash App is a financial services platform that allows users to transfer money, pay vendors and invest.

Cash App hasnโ€™t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $15 million to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive up to $2,500 for documented losses related to the data breaches, including credit costs, bank fees, travel expenses and up to three hours of lost time compensated at a rate of $25 per hour.

Class members who experienced fraudulent transactions as a result of the data breaches can receive additional compensation for these losses if they provide sufficient documentation.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Nov. 1, 2024.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Dec. 16, 2024.

To receive Cash App settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 18, 2024.

Iโ€™ve had multiple transactions that have been to my account and pulled money out each time. When I contact customer service /support I never receive any help in getting my funds back or any type of solution to my problem about where my money went or how to get my money back. Customer Service or support is very rude and just runs you in a big circle repeating the same things to do to be able to report illegal transactions or unauthorized transaction that I have mentioned have been done to my account and they tell me every single time that they canโ€™t help me so I end up having to chalk it up on ever getting my money back. So I donโ€™t know if I qualify for this settlement/lawsuit but I do know that I have had hundreds of dollars removed from my account with no one helping me in being able to get my money back and thatโ€™s very irritating since I work hard for my money and donโ€™t understand where it went or even the companies listed that pulled it out I never heard from. Anyway, I hope everyone gets their just deserve because I canโ€™t stand theirs and I believe justice should be served to those who take from anyone. I would like more information on what this class action settlement is in regards to so I can see if I do qualify. I have only read a brief article about it and more information in detail on what all this lawsuit consist of would be very beneficial to being able to see if I do qualify before I fill out any thing in regards to joining it. Anything anyone can direct me to do I can read up on it would be appreciated. I do hope the ones who have been taken from receive what they deserve. I know if it was like me to have every cent that you have took from you and not returned from some company you did not authorize to take it is frustrating as crap when you get no help to have it returned and you have to struggle till next payday broke and needing to catch up on things that money was meant for, sometimes costing you more money on late fees and so forth for a thing you couldnโ€™t control and have any day over happening to you or any help in getting it back. Anyway, Iโ€™ve said my piece. Good day everyone get your just rewards. Taking from anyone is just plain wrong and justice needs to be served .. Thank you

Add me my account was hacked

  6. Tiffany Crosby says:

Someone hacked into my account and stole 100 and due to cash app at the time didnโ€™t have customer service

  7. Robert Garcia says:

We will never see a dime of it .

  8. Jeremy Butler says:

I had my debit card info stolen recently. Someone tried to use it to make it 62 dollar purchase on TikTok. My bank noticed something weird about it and notified me immediately. I had to use a credit card to pay for everything for a week.. lucky for me I had that card attached to my checking account so I could pay the balance each time. Guess since I was smart and didnโ€™t use money Iโ€™m not entitled to any of that settlement cash รทven though someone stole my card information and attempted to make a purchaseโ€ฆ. sounds bogus to me.

  9. Me says:

So far i have not had any problems with cash app. I always have my card locked n only unlock it when making a purchase then lock it right after. Also i change my pin every week. Have no bank accts linked to it, dont hse any of there services besides getting paid n paying. Also have notifications on at all times for any transaction, declined n transfers set up 24/7โ€ฆ

  10. Angela Story says:

Iv had several situations with cash app . One for instance they allowed a company take money from my account wen i had no money in my account and left me with a negative balamce . Made no sensee to me . Then i had to deal with the cpmpany that they authorize it for . They did nothing . I asked how this was possible and they told me that sometimes people keep trying to get them to authorize it by putting different amounts in thats close to what they are trying to get . Even wem i asked them to please block this and closed acc. With do not withdraw button as soon As i put money in they took it . Snd they wouldnt let me get my account transfoered wem i got new phone they always made me make a new account and wouldnt let me back in my old one and i had some stocks in it. And to this day i have no idea wats happen also they turned it into my taxes but i never saw any information for it . Its still an issue
