Credit One Bank has agreed to a $14 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by calling consumers with robocalls without their consent.

If you’ve received excessive or unwanted calls from Credit One or other banks related to debt collection, you may be eligible to join an ongoing investigation into these alleged unlawful debt collection practices.

The Credit One Bank class action settlement benefits consumers who received an automated call from Credit One Bank or its affiliates between 2014 and 2019 without giving prior consent to be contacted via automated dialing systems or pre-recorded messages.

The class action lawsuit claims Credit One Bank violated the TCPA by contacting consumers through automated dialing systems without their prior consent. The calls were allegedly made to individuals who had not provided permission to be contacted, a direct violation of federal robocall laws.

Credit One Bank is a credit card company based in Paradise, Nevada. The company offers credit cards to people with poor or no credit histories.

Credit One Bank has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $14 million settlement to resolve the TCPA class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the Credit One Bank settlement, class members can receive a cash payment. The exact amount each class member will receive will depend on the number of claims received. Some sources estimate that eligible participants could receive up to $1,000.

Class members can strengthen their claim if they can provide documentation or phone records verifying they received robocalls from Credit One Bank. However, even those who cannot provide direct proof may be eligible for compensation, although it might be a lower amount.

The official settlement website is not yet available, and important dates, such as the claim deadline and final approval hearing, have not been announced.
