American Income Life Insurance Co. agreed to a $14 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by making unsolicited telemarketing calls to consumers.

The American Income Life Insurance settlement benefits individuals associated with 49,695 unique phone numbers identified by American Income Life who were registered on the National Do Not Call Registry for at least 30 days and received more than one call within a 12-month period between Aug. 11, 2019, and Dec. 4, 2024. Consumers must not have been American Income Life policyholders.

American Income Life Insurance is a life insurance company that offers a variety of policies, including those for individuals, families and businesses.

According to a class action lawsuit, American Income Life violated the TCPA by calling consumers who had registered their numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry. The plaintiff in the case says she received unsolicited calls from the company despite her number being registered on the National Do Not Call Registry.

The plaintiff says she was harmed by these calls, which interrupted her daily life and caused her to spend time answering the phone and dealing with the calls.

American Income Life has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $14 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve the TCPA violations.

Under the terms of the American Income Life Insurance settlement, class members can receive a cash payment.

Class members will be compensated on a pro rata basis, meaning those who received more calls will receive a larger share of the net settlement fund. Exact payment amounts will vary. No payment estimates are available.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Nov. 25, 2025.

The final approval hearing for the American Income Life Insurance settlement is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 25, 2025.

People try to sue for everything. From what I know, is if you get a call it’s because you signed up for information or someone sponsored you. All you have to do when they say what they are calling for is “please do not contact me again. I want to be removed” but majority of the people just hang up. It becomes the person who sponsored you fault because they gave m your number to them, or you yourself if you signed up for info and don’t tell them you aren’t interested and not to call again.

    1. Cheryl Johnson says:

This is invalid information on my end and i pray it works for evsryone else though. I cant even begin to count all the times I have asked the callers in the most polite way I could think of to please remove my name from the call list because I keep getting un-countable calls from your company. They always ask your full name and make you think it was removed to get another call an hour later. What i learned from a caller is that your number is sold for marketing sales and it is also sold individually to each company because mainly each insurance company as their own agent as the owner. And your number keeps getting sold over and over to each Insurance company because since each one is privately owned.

Violet, I learned years ago that when you sign.up for anything dont click the checkmark box unless you read the terms which tell you your number will be shared to.all of our sponsors and you can click on that to see who or how many there are and hundreds are on that listing. But my question to you is, I have been called by countless amount of companies and I know American Family insurance was calling all the time for a couple months but I cant tell you which one it was?? I vould download my call list from AT&T and email it to the attorneys office BUT I do have quite a few recordings saved on my phone from other companies that are recent. How would you suggest I take care of this please? Thank you for your time answering our questions too by the way.

  6. Carolyn Cassidy says:

We bought a policy from American Income Insurance, we have since canceled it. They keep calling us 2 years after. I think my number is on the do not call list, how do I find out?

    1. Violet says:

When they call you, just tell them you don’t want to renew and to please put you on the do not call. They are calling you to see what happened and try to help you get a better offer. Just decline say out you in the do not call and simple. The calls should stop.
