WorkWave has agreed to pay $1.5 million as part of a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that it failed to protect consumers from a 2024 data breach.
The WorkWave data breach class action settlement benefits individuals whose personally identifying information (PII) was exposed to unauthorized third parties as a result of a data security incident at WorkWave that occurred in July 2024.
The WorkWave data breach class action lawsuit claims the breach allegedly exposed sensitive information such as names, Social Security numbers and driver’s license numbers.
If you received a data breach letter within the past six months notifying you that your personal information was compromised in a different data breach, you may be eligible to pursue compensation. See if you qualify.
WorkWave is a company that provides software solutions for field service businesses such as lawn care, pest control, commercial cleaning, janitorial services and security guarding.
WorkWave has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to this $1.5 million settlement to resolve the data breach class action allegations.
Under the terms of the WorkWave data breach class action settlement, class members can receive up to $5,000 in reimbursement for documented monetary losses. These losses can include fraud and identity theft, professional fees, credit costs, communication charges and other expenses.
Class members can also receive two years of identity theft protection and credit monitoring, as well as at least $1 million in fraud and identity theft insurance.
The settlement also includes a pro rata cash payment. The amount of these payments will vary depending on the amount remaining in the settlement fund after other payments are made. There is no maximum payment amount for pro rata cash payments.
WorkWave also agreed to make business practice commitments to enhance its data security practices and systems.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Oct. 6, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Oct. 15, 2025.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 4, 2025.
