Nationwide has agreed to a $1.4 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that it violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) with unsolicited robocalls.
The Nationwide settlement benefits consumers who received one or more prerecorded voice calls from Nationwide regarding the renewal and/or expiration of their pet insurance policy since Jan. 6, 2021.
Nationwide is an insurance company that offers a variety of policies, including pet insurance.
According to Nationwide’s website, pet insurance can help cover unexpected injuries and illnesses for cats and dogs.
According to claims made in the class action lawsuit resolved by this settlement, Nationwide violated the TCPA by contacting consumers with unsolicited robocalls. Plaintiffs in the case say they never consented to receive these calls.
Nationwide has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $1.4 million settlement to resolve the allegations.
Under the terms of the Nationwide settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. Exact payments will vary depending on the number of claims filed with the settlement. According to the settlement website, each class member is estimated to receive $17.50.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Jan. 20, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the Nationwide settlement is scheduled for Feb. 24, 2026.
To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by March 11, 2026.
