Zithromax, also known as Z-Pak, is a powerful antibiotic medicine that is commonly used to treat ear infections, tonsillitis and other bacterial infections.

In that study, two cases of azithromycin SJS were discussed, including a 62-year-old woman who took the antibiotic for an upper respiratory infection and developed SJS.

The other patient who developed SJS after using Zithromax in this study was a child.
