White Castle recall overview:
- Who: White Castle Food Products LLC is recalling 1,021 cases of its frozen 4-count cartons of Original Sliders.
- Why: The recall is due to undeclared milk and soy, which are allergens.
- Where: The recall is effective in potentially all 50 states in the United States.
White Castle has issued a recall for over a thousand cases of its frozen Original Sliders due to the presence of undeclared milk and soy allergens. The issue arose when Jalapeño Cheese Sliders, which contain these allergens, were mistakenly packaged as Original Sliders.
The recall, announced on Dec. 12, affects the 4-count cartons of Original Sliders, which are sold in a blue and white cardboard box with UPC# 0-82988-02969-3. These White Castle frozen sliders were distributed to retailers between August and October 2025.
The affected lot codes are 9H203521 and 9H203522, and these can be found on the end panel of the carton. The cartons have a 270-day frozen shelf life with a best by date of April 18, 2026.
According to the recall notice, the mix-up occurred during the packaging process when Jalapeño Cheese Sliders were placed in the wrong packaging, leading to the omission of milk and soy from the ingredient list.
“Consumers with an allergy or sensitivity to milk or soy run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product,” the recall notice states.
Consumers advised to check packaging for specific lot codes
The recall notice emphasizes the importance of consumers checking the lot codes on their packaging to ensure they are not affected by the recalled products.
The specific lot codes involved are 9H203521 and 9H203522, and any product not containing these full codes is not included in the recall.
The issue was discovered after a customer reported a non-life-threatening allergic reaction after consuming a Jalapeño Cheese Slider that was incorrectly packaged. “No other reports of injury or illness have been received to date,” the recall notice says.
White Castle is urging consumers who purchased the affected White Castle frozen sliders to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. For further inquiries, consumers can contact White Castle directly at 1-800-843-2728, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
White Castle says it has received one report of illness related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the White Castle recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
