Walmart is recalling more than 200,000 Ozark Trail Tabletop 1-Burner Butane Camping Stoves due to risks of explosion and fire. These stoves, identified by model number BG2247A1, have been sold nationwide at Walmart stores and online from March 2023 to October 2025.

The Ozark Trail recall was announced Nov. 26 following reports of the stoves exploding or catching fire. The affected stoves are dark green with an orange “Ozark Trail” logo and have the model number printed on a gray label inside the fuel compartment.

According to the recall notice, there have been 26 incidents of the stoves malfunctioning, resulting in 16 injuries, including second-degree burns.

“The stoves can explode or catch fire, posing a burn and fire hazard to consumers,” the recall says.

Consumers advised to stop using Ozark Trail camping stoves immediately

The Ozark Trail recalls urges consumers to immediately stop using the camping stoves and to return them to any Walmart store for a full refund. It emphasizes the potential dangers, urging customers to take prompt action to prevent accidents.

Walmart is offering full refunds to affected customers as part of the Ozark Trail recall process. For more information, consumers can contact Walmart at 800-925-6278 or visit their website at www.walmart.com/help or https://corporate.walmart.com/recalls.

China Window Industry Co., the manufacturer based in Taipei, Taiwan, has acknowledged the reports of explosions and fires but has not reported any legal actions related to the recall. Walmart is not facing any legal action either, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

In another recent incident, the Ozark recalled its Trail 64 oz Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottles after reports indicated that the lids can eject forcefully, posing a risk of serious injury.
