- Where: The Walmart class action lawsuit was filed in Arkansas federal court.
A new Walmart class action lawsuit alleges the retail giant overcharges consumers for food, baby products, appliances and other products.
Plaintiff Quina Myers claims Walmart charged incorrect prices for items tagged in the aisles between Feb. 1 and July 29, 2024.
Myers says she shopped for food and baby products at Walmart during this timeframe. When she reviewed her receipts, she says she noticed the price she was charged did not match the price quoted on the product.
She says she selected the items with the expectation she would be charged the amount on the price sticker. However, when she checked out, โWalmartโs [point of sale] system deceptively, programmatically and artificially increased the prices of the products,โ the Walmart class action lawsuit says.
The Walmart class action lawsuit notes the retail giant accounted for more than a quarter of all grocery revenues in the United States, accumulating $648 billion in sales in 2024.
Myers claims Walmart gained its market power by squeezing out smaller grocery stores and other retailers with its low prices and consolidated shopping experiences.
Walmart class action says consumers charged prices that do not match sticker price
The Rollback stickers, price stickers and yellow stickers printed on items are important to consumersโ purchasing decisions and entice them to purchase the products at the listed prices, the Walmart class action lawsuit alleges.
Consumers reasonably expect they will be charged for the amount listed on the Rollback stickers, price stickers and yellow stickers, Myers claims. She claims consumers were charged amounts that exceeded the lowest advertised prices on the price stickers, causing them to suffer actual damage by overpaying for the products.
Myers filed the Walmart class action lawsuit on behalf of herself and a proposed nationwide class of consumers who purchased Roll Back or Price Sticker products from a Walmart store in the United States during the class period. She also seeks to represent a Pennsylvania subclass.
The Walmart class action lawsuit asserts claims for violations of Pennsylvaniaโs Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, declaratory judgment and unjust enrichment.
Walmart employees recently won a โsubstantialโ settlement over required pre-shift COVID-19 screenings.

This has happened to me as well. I purchased some notebook folders in the school section at Walmart. The shelf price said $0.25 but upon checking my receipt at home, I was charged $0.50. I always check the shelf sticker because sometimes it is for a certain count or a certain color. I sent Walmart an email and got no response. Can I get in on this class action as well?
THIS HAPPEN TO ME LAST WEEK.
Walmart does overcharge for everything. I was looking to buy 2 pounds of hamburger and they had it listed at $29.99 which is a totally ridiculous price. It would seem that price gouging since the Covid 19 Pandemic of 2019 hasnโt stopped them from overcharging for everything. I do 99% of my shopping at Walmart. Their prices are not fair to Seniors that are on a fixed budget, as I am. Prices matter very much.
