Stryker Accolade hip replacement implants have been a topic of controversy since a number of its models have been recalled over the last several years.

Unlike other models of hip replacement systems that have a liner in between the two parts of a metal hip, the Stryker Accolade has metal-on-metal parts that touch with regular use.
When these metal parts rub together, small pieces of metal flake off and go into the body. They can cause inflammation and tissue death in the surrounding tissue, as well as pain. Pseudo-tumors can also develop.
Metallosis can have systemic effects in the body, and its actions are not just limited to the immediate area of the hip implant. Metal poisoning can cause disruptions in many bodily systems, including hormonal and endocrine abnormalities.

My right hip hurts ever since the surgery. I have a doctor at Emory in Atlanta. I will be getting nerve blocks on October 14 2024.
I had a hip replacement done on Dec. 6, 2010. My hip has hurt very since then but it’s much worse now. I have a Stryker Accolade and Stryker Trident with Lot # 35024501 and components 35024501, MJNIPK, 30949402, 30949402, and 3429402.
