pressure cooker lawsuitA recent class action investigation has been launched into Elite Bistro Pressure cooker models that were purchased on the Home Shopping Network, after consumers reported the device malfunctioned.

This pressure cooker class action investigation is open to all consumers who purchased one of these devices if the product did not work as advertised or caused injury from an unexpected explosion.

Consumers across the country are reporting problems with pressure cookers, indicating problems like sudden explosions and the device not working as advertised. These pressure cooker explosions have allegedly sent scalding hot liquid and food onto consumers, causing second and third-degree burns.

Pressure cookers are often marketed as safe and convenient cooking tools that quickly prepare food, giving consumers no reason to be vigilant against potential problems like explosions or other malfunctions.

Pressure cookers work by trapping stem in a sealed chamber, increasing internal pressure up to 15 pounds per square inch. The inside of pressure cookers can get as hot as 250 ℉, which quickly cooks the food inside.Som

Some pressure cooker explosions are allegedly caused by faulty valves, which fail to seal the lid shut when closed. These locking failures have also occurred in pressure cookers with “safety lock lids,” which are supposed to prevent the lid from opening before the inside of the device safely depressurizes.

In addition to second and third-degree burns from pressure cooker explosions, consumers have also alleged that steam burns can occur when the steam escapes from the device.

Pressure cooker explosions have been reported in multiple models like the Elite Bistro pressure cooker, allegedly sending boiling hot liquid and food contents onto unsuspecting consumers.

Overview of Pressure Cooker Litigation

There have already been several pressure cooker lawsuits filed, with one pressure cooker lawsuit filed by a California couple alleging they suffered third-degree burns from one of the company’s pressure cookers.

The pressure cooker lawsuit was filed in September 2015, with the couple alleging that Maxi-Matic manufactured a defective product that had unexpectedly exploded and sent boiling hot chicken broth onto one of the claimants. Maxi-Matic makes the Elite Bistro pressure cooker.

More recently, a pressure cooker class action lawsuit was filed in June 2017 when an Ohio federal judge upheld class action certification of a lawsuit alleging certain Tristar pressure cookers contained defective parts.

These allegedly defective parts caused the lid to not properly close and seal, leading to unexpected pressure cooker explosions. Three claimants involved in the class action lawsuit were allegedly injured with serious burns due to the scalding hot contents of the pressure cooker.

A pressure cooker class action investigation is now seeking consumers who bought the Elite Bistro Pressure Cooker from the Home Shopping Network and allegedly experienced unexpected device problems. This can include unexpected pressure cooker explosions, or the device not working as promised on marketing statements.

Consumers who purchased an Elite Bistro pressure cooker from the Home Shopping Network in 2015 or earlier and experienced problems related to product deficiencies may be able to file legal action against Maxi-Matic. Potential claimants should contact a lawyer to determine eligibility for a pressure cooker lawsuit.
