Pradaxa Bleeding Risk May Injure PatientsA number of different studies and complaints from the users indicate that the Pradaxa bleeding risk may be significant. Anyone who may have suffered from an injury related to the Pradaxa bleeding risk without being warned may be eligible to pursue a lawsuit.

Pradaxa was initially approved by the FDA in 2010. However, since then a number of different patients and medical professionals have come forward to report issues, including high rates of problems with the Pradaxa bleeding risk. Those individuals who may have been harmed by the Pradaxa bleeding risk may have suffered adverse events and may be eligible to participate in a class action investigation.

Many different side effects have been associated with use of Pradaxa, including stroke, internal bleeding, kidney bleeding, death, heart attack and gastrointestinal bleeding. This anticoagulant medication is a form of a direct thrombin inhibitor, also referred to as a blood thinner.

The drug was marketed as superior to the long relied upon warfarin because allegedly it required less monitoring or no alterations in diet. However, more research has indicated a high rate of Pradaxa bleeding risk. Despite the fact that Pradaxa now has an available antidote known as Praxbind that was approved in October 2015, those individuals who have been negatively affected by the drug may have already suffered.

There were more than 300 reports filed with the Food and Drug Administration in the first three months that Pradaxa was on the market. Many of the most common problems that had to do with the Pradaxa bleeding risk, which resulted in gastrointestinal and internal bleeding. Within the first year, another set of reports including more than 260 deaths were associated with the Pradaxa bleeding risk. Hemorrhage and stroke were, unfortunately, far too common among patients who say that they were never told about the serious side effects.

Many of the Pradaxa bleeding risk lawsuits allege that after an internal bleed or hemorrhage begins, there is no way to stop it until dialysis flushes Pradaxa. Now there is an antidote available, but the risk of the drug may still be high. Some patients allege the serious side effects of Pradaxa were never properly disclosed to the patients using the medication.

Most people who take anticoagulant and blood thinning drugs already know that these drugs cause bleeding. However, the Pradaxa risk may cause excessive bleeding which is a very dangerous and life-threatening side effect.

The Pradaxa bleeding risk may be significant and if a person does not recognize the side effects of Pradaxa bleeding, they may not be able to take action quickly enough to get assistance from a medical professional.

Participating in lawsuits is one method through which consumers have taken action to hold the manufacturer of the drug accountable. Anyone who has suffered serious gastrointestinal or internal bleeding, in addition to kidney bleeding, death or brain hemorrhage after taking Pradaxa may be eligible to pursue legal action with the assistance of an experienced attorney. Many people may not be aware of their eligibility to participate in a Pradaxa lawsuit, but getting informed about the facts sooner rather than later is important.

In general, Pradaxa lawsuits are filed individually by each plaintiff and are not class actions.
