Owners of Powerbeats2 headphones report many of the headphones are failing after only a few months. These Powerbeats2 wireless charging problems may be indicators of a defective product.
The headphones are designed to make use of Bluetooth technology, which allows the listener to hear the contents of a device without the headphones being physically wired to that device.Owners of Powerbeats2 and the next generation product, Powerbeats3, are stating the wireless headphones would not hold a charge prior to the end of the one-year warranty period.
Apple owns Beats products, which are accompanied by a one-year limited warranty. The warranty says it provides protection “against defects in materials and workmanship” for one year from the purchase date, but some customers are not satisfied with the responses from Apple. Many customers say they traded in their broken headphones only to receive another set that suffers from the same problem.
Powerbeats2 Wireless Charging Problems Not Rare Event
Customers who pay $199 retail for the Powerbeats2 headphones expect a high quality product, but many customers have shared their dissatisfaction with the headphones on the internet. Many of them did not anticipate having such Powerbeats2 wireless charging problems, especially so soon after their purchase.
One Amazon reviewer wrote: “Wow, were these things complete garbage! Broke the 6th time I wore them during a workout. Volume button went out first, then they wouldn’t stay charged, and then they just completely stopped working. Two of my friends had the exact same issues.”
Another unhappy customer wrote: “I figured that I would pay more money for wireless bluetooth ear buds so they last longer. So much for getting what you pay for. They just recently stopped taking a charge. I bought them March 31st. Stick with the cheap ones. At least you won’t be out $150-$200.”
Another consumer said, “They worked well for all of 30 days. Now they will not charge or turn on. I am totally disappointed that headphones at this price just stop working all of a sudden!”
If you have a defective Apple product, the warranty states Apple will repair the product at no charge, exchange the product for something else with “equivalent functionality,” or refund the customer as long as the issue is covered by the limited one-year warranty.
Still, some customers complain that their replacement product has suffered the same defective problems that their original set faced, including the Powerbeats2 wireless charging problems.
Other complaints indicate the headphones simply are not well made. Several customers have expressed problems with the volume control piece falling apart after a couple of months of use.
One woman says she bought her Powerbeats2 headphones two months ago and has used them fewer than 10 times for webinars at her workplace. She said she is now holding together the main part of the volume controller with tape, and even posted a photo of her handiwork online.
