Powerbeats2 Powerbeats3 battery chargingOwners of the popular wireless headphones Powerbeats 2 and Powerbeats 3 allege that their headphones had stopped working and have failed to hold a power charge before the warranty period had come to an end.

The Powerbeats 2 and Powerbeats 3 brands are owned by Apple Inc. and are typically covered by Apple’s one-year warranty.

The one-year warranty allows product protection against defects that may occur in workmanship or a defect in materials. But Powerbeats owners say the warranty hasn’t solved the Powerbeats 2 and Powerbeats 3 battery problem. They say that when they brought in either a Powerbeats 2 or Powerbeats3 product in for repair or replacement, they were purportedly given a replacement pair with the same problem.

Powerbeats 2 and Powerbeats 3 Battery Problem

There are a multitude of customer complaints and negative product reviews across the internet stemming from consumers have issues with their Powerbeats 2 or Powerbeats 3 product. The complaints allegedly state that the wireless headphones, which cost roughly $199, fail to hold a power charge after a couple months of purchase.

According to a consumer who have written an Amazon review, this was allegedly his third Powerbeats 2 wireless headphone in seven months. He purports that the, “same thing happens every time, I get 2 or 3 months of use then they just shut off one day and won’t ever turn back on no matter how long they are charged. Then I spend 2 weeks working with Apple ‘care’… They make you jump through [hoops] to fix on your own. Hello, they won’t even power on, why would you ask me to reboot them? Finally, I have to wait for a box to be sent, then mail them in, then weeks later get a replacement pain. Then the whole cycle starts over again.”

Another reviewer had also written about the Powerbeats 3 battery problem saying “[Powerbeats 3] headphones were my prized possession for about 3-4 months of normal use, until now they are completely dead. From other reviews I’ve read since, I’ve experienced the same problems where the light blinks red, will not charge, whatever is going on they simply do not power up anymore.”

According to most consumers who have the Powerbeats 3 battery problem that they had all used the headphones with proper care and no particularly harsh treatment. That may had explained just why the battery would have malfunctioned and stopped working. However, this was not the case.

According to Apple Inc’s., One-Year Limited Warranty, they address product malfunction in one of three ways. The possibilities include that either, they will: 1) repair the product at no charge, 2) exchange the product for something of “equivalent functionality,” or 3) refund the consumer.

However, Powerbeats 3 consumers have allegedly claimed that when given a replacement product, the Powerbeats 3 battery problem returns. The set of new headphones fail just as the old pair had, they say.

Some consumers do attribute the Powerbeats 2 battery problem to certain causes, like sweat while working out. However, some Powerbeats ads show Lebron James working out while wearing the wireless headphones, implying they are suitable for that use. Additionally, the Powerbeats 2 wireless headphones are advertised for athlete use and are purportedly “sweat and water resistant”
