Plantronics Headset Customers Allege Early Device Failure and Battery Charge FailureConsumers who have purchased a Plantronics headset have recently been complaining that the devices fail soon after purchase due to battery charging problems.

A class action investigation has been launched after a number of consumers reported incidents of their Plantronics headset either not charging or not responding after the battery ran out.

Consumers allege that the Plantronics headset products they purchased failed prematurely even with minimal use, often just after the expiration date of the product’s warranty policy.

Plantronics headset products are marketed as superior Bluetooth headsets that can be used in numerous setting, including for office work and exercise and are waterproof in up to a meter of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.

These Bluetooth Plantronics headset products were supposed to provide consumers with a reliable method for blocking out sound so they can focus on a particular task at a given time, and were reasonable to assume they would last a reasonable product life.

Considering that the listing price on Amazon can be almost up to$100, it is reasonable for consumers to assume they are high quality.

Overview of Plantronics Headset Problems

According to the Amazon listing for a Plantronics BackBeat Fit Bluetooth headset, the device is supposed to have an eight-hour battery life that is rechargeable. According to the listing, the Plantronics headset is protected with a nano-coating applied during the manufacturing process, which makes it resistant to liquid damage.

The warranty offered states that the coverage varies and interested consumers should check with their Plantronics product information on the label provided at the time of purchase, with the maximum coverage being three years. Many consumers have alleged that their Plantronics headset had failed just after the coverage ended, and sometimes even sooner.

In a product review, one consumer said she bought a pair of Plantronics headset products for herself and her daughters and that the products were soon unable to carry a charge despite minimal use. The woman complained that even though other consumers had similar experiences, there did not seem to be a solution available.

Another consumer complained that they were severely disappointed in their Plantronics headset because they had stopped working soon after purchase when they were initially excited for the product. While the company had reportedly replaced the first Plantronics headset, the purchaser says the second set still suffered the same issue regarding battery life.

With the second set, Plantronics allegedly refused to replace the headset because the consumer had reportedly purchased it from an “unauthorized seller.” and that they are not responsible for replacing it.

In a more extreme case, one Amazon customer had reportedly bought the Plantronics headset on Feb. 22, 2016, and worked well for only one year. The customer stated that while the product is fully charged, the Plantronics headset would not turn on.

Consumers have alleged that their Plantronics headset products had gradually lost battery life and would eventually stop charging. Consumers also noted that the loss of battery life occurred just after a few uses, and the manufacturer has reportedly done little to help.

Consumers who bought a Plantronics headset and experienced premature device failure may be eligible to participate in the class action investigation and seek compensation.
