Proctor & Gamble (P&G) continues to face negative press due to numerous consumers reporting Old Spice rash in after using their popular deodorant products.
Consumer complaints about Old Spice rash have since spawned a potential Old Spice class action lawsuit from injured customers. The Old Spice class action lawsuit alleges the deodorant causes rashes, irritation, burning, and other skin damage to customers.
The deodorant rash lawsuit further alleges the customers suffered economic damage because customers were forced to cease using Old Spice deodorant, after only a few uses.
Leading the charge is Virginia plaintiff Rodney Colley, who claims he suffered severe deodorant rash after using Old Spice deodorant. He reported developed burning and discomfort from the rashes, with the complaint including photos of the alleged Old Spice rash in his armpits.
Colley’s photos are similar to numerous accounts on social media and consumer review sites, detailing different experiences from Old Spice deodorant customers.
Old Spice Rash Allegations
According to consumeraffairs.com, a number of Old Spice deodorant customers have posted their reviews of the product detailing their experiences.
One of these reviews comes from a mother from Ontario, who described the scary experience her son had with Old Spice deodorant.
After only using the product for a few days, he had woken up at 3am from serious hive-like itching around his armpits and chest. Her son reportedly never had problems with Old Spice deodorant before, and was not aware it could cause such reactions.
In another account from a worried mother, a boy from Arizona suffered severe deodorant rash and blisters soon after using the Old Spice deodorant. She reported that it hurt him to lift his arms, or even move them due to the severity of the Old Spice rash.
These mothers and other consumers who reported Old Spice rash may be eligible to file legal action against Proctor & Gamble.
The Old Spice class action suit currently consists of at least of 100 consumers, who have been reportedly affected by deodorant rashes and other severe skin irritation.
The Old Spice class action lawsuit alleges “consumers were/are systematically injured, harmed and forced to discard P&G’s products without the benefit of its full intended use and purpose.”
Proctor & Gamble continues to deny the allegations of Old Spice rash, pointing out millions of customers use their deodorants without incident.
Furthermore, the company states that even if a small group of consumers experienced alleged Old Spice rash it may be due to a skin sensitivity to alcohol.
The Old Spice class action lawsuit is seeking over $5 million in damages, to compensate consumers who purchased Old Spice products. Potential claimants should contact a specialized lawyer, to determine if they are eligible to join the Old Spice class action lawsuit.
