Nestlé USA has issued a voluntary recall of certain batches of Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s frozen meals due to potential contamination with wood-like material.

The affected products include:

  • Lean Cuisine: Butternut Squash Ravioli, Spinach Artichoke Ravioli and Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry
  • Stouffer’s: Party Size Chicken Lasagna

These items were produced between August 2024 and March 2025 and distributed across major U.S. retailers from September 2024 to March 2025. For specific batch numbers and dates, please check the FDA recall page.

The recall was announced on March 17 following consumer reports, including one potential choking incident, the Nestle frozen meals recall says.

Consumers advised to check batch codes, Nestle frozen meal recall notice urges

Consumers are urged not to consume the affected products and to return them to the place of purchase for a replacement or refund.

Nestlé USA emphasizes that the recall is limited to specific batches and does not affect other Lean Cuisine or Stouffer’s products.

Nestlé USA is taking proactive steps to address the issue by investigating the source of the wood-like material and ensuring it does not recur. The company is cooperating with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture to ensure consumer safety.

For more information on the recall, consumers can contact Nestlé USA at (800) 681-1676, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.

Nestlé USA says it has not received any reports of illness or injury related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Recently, Feel Good Foods issued a recall for more than 4,200 cases of its Three Cheese Mac & Cheese Bites after metal pieces were found in the frozen snacks.
