Mondelēz Global LLC has expanded its recall of Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites Brookie due to a potential choking hazard.
The Chips Ahoy! recall was initially announced on Dec. 24, 2025, and expanded on Dec 30, 2025, to include additional product codes and UPCs. The recall was published on the FDA website on Feb 4.
The issue arose from an incorrect mixing process that led to the formation of small corn starch clumps, posing a choking risk, particularly to young children and the elderly.
The updated recall affects Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites Brookie products with specific “Best When Used By” dates, including May 9, 10, 11, 12 and 18, 2026. These Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites products are available in various sizes, including 22.4 oz, 2.8 oz, 7.0 oz and 1.4 oz pouches, each with distinct UPC codes .
“Due to the characteristics and size of the small starch clumps, the clump could constitute a choking hazard,” the recall alert says.
The recall is limited to these specific products and does not affect other Chips Ahoy! or Mondelēz Global LLC products.
Consumers should refrain from eating affected products, recall urges
The recall notices says that while no injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with the affected products, consumers who possess any of the recalled Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites products should refrain from consumption and contact Mondelēz for further instructions.
Mondelēz Global LLC is taking proactive measures to address the issue. Consumers are urged to check their products for the affected UPC codes and “Best When Used By” dates.

Mondelēz Global LLC reports no injuries or illnesses related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the Chips Ahoy! recall, but Top Class Actions monitors recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
