Superfoods is recalling its Live It Up-brand Super Greens dietary supplement powders following a Salmonella outbreak that has sickened 45 people across 21 states.
The Live It Up recall affects products with expiration dates from August 2026 to January 2028, including both original and wild berry flavors.
The recall, announced on Jan. 15, involves products sold primarily online through the Live It Up website, Amazon, eBay, and Walmart. The affected items include Live It Up Super Greens in both original and wild berry flavors, with specific UPC numbers provided for identification.
“Consumers and retailers should not eat, sell, or serve recalled Live It Up-brand Super Greens dietary supplement powder,” the recall notice says.
Live It Up salmonella outbreak linked to 12 hospitalizations, particularly in Wisconsin
The FDA and CDC are actively investigating the outbreak, which has resulted in 12 hospitalizations but no deaths reported so far.
The agencies are collaborating with state and local partners to investigate the source of the contamination. Reports of illnesses began on Aug. 22, 2025, and continued through Dec. 30, 2025, with Wisconsin reporting the highest number of cases.
The CDC advises consumers to discard the recalled products and sanitize any surfaces they may have contacted.
“The illness typically lasts four to seven days, and most people recover without treatment,” the CDC says.
The FDA’s ongoing investigation may lead to additional recalls if more contaminated products are identified.
Superfoods is offering refunds to those who purchased the affected products, and consumers can contact the company directly for more information on the refund.
