
LexisNexis data breach overview:
- Who: LexisNexis Risk Solutions sent notices to more than 360,000 individuals potentially affected by a December 2024 data breach.
- Why: An unauthorized third party accessed certain LexisNexis data from a third-party platform used for software development.
- Where: The data breach affects certain individuals nationwide.
LexisNexis Risk Solutions, a provider of risk management services, mailed a letter in May to individuals whose personal information may have been compromised in a data breach that occurred on Dec. 25, 2024.
The company discovered the data breach on April 1 and determined that an unauthorized party had acquired data from a third-party platform used for software development. LexisNexis clarified that its internal networks and systems were not affected.
The compromised information may include names, phone numbers, email addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers and dates of birth.
LexisNexis stated that no financial or credit card information was involved, and there is no evidence of further misuse of the data.
LexisNexis offers identity protection services to affected individuals
In response to the data breach, LexisNexis offers affected individuals two years of complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services through Experian IdentityWorks.
These services include daily credit monitoring, identity restoration assistance and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance coverage.
LexisNexis recommends that individuals remain vigilant by monitoring their account statements and credit reports for any unauthorized activity.
Instructions for enrolling in the free credit monitoring service, including an activation code and enrollment deadline, are provided in the mailed notice. For more information, individuals can contact LexisNexis at 1-833-918-9002, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
LexisNexis is not currently facing legal action over the data breach, but Top Class Actions follows data breaches closely as they may sometimes lead to a class action lawsuit.
Meanwhile, Yale New Haven Health recently announced a massive data breach affecting 5.5 million patients, exposing their sensitive personal information and prompting the healthcare system to offer credit monitoring and identity protection services.

I not sure about this particular breech but this company had really done a number on my driving record with things that are NOT Mine on my record. And auto insurance companies look at this information like it is GOLD or something !!🤨
Plus they are so hard to deal with as far as requesting that they have false data and to remove it .. They make you jump through hoops and it’s ALL AUTOMATED & MAIL … NO LIVE PEOPLE TO TALK TO !!!!
