shingles vaccine reaction impacts patientstPatients who went through the process of obtaining the Zostavax shingles vaccination are filing reports of an adverse shingles vaccine reaction. Some of these cases are coming forward as lawsuits from patients who say that the shot made them more likely to develop shingles, not less.

Numerous plaintiffs have initiated a shingles vaccine reaction lawsuit against the makers of Zostavax, alleging that they were never informed about the possible adverse reactions. Many adverse shingles vaccine reaction complaints have been lodged by individual recipients of the shingles vaccine.

These plaintiffs allege in their shingles vaccine reaction lawsuit that they suffered damages and personal injuries after being inoculated with the Zostavax vaccine. Zostavax vaccine is marketed as reducing the likelihood of shingles over the course of the long term; however, those plaintiffs who were inoculated with the Zostavax vaccine say they ultimately suffered significant side effects, including the development of shingles itself.

The shingles vaccine reaction lawsuit says that the manufacturer either knew about these side effects or should have known and failed to warn plaintiffs about the possibility that the vaccine would not prevent shingles as intended.

Zostavax and Shingles

Many of the people who choose to get any form of a shingles vaccine do so because they are considered vulnerable to the medical condition. This includes elderly people who might been advised by their doctors to consider Zostavax in order to prevent the side effects and resulting problems tied to shingles. But patients say that they were not informed that the Zostavax vaccine would fail to protect them against shingles or that the shot could actually increase their chances of coming down with shingles.

One of the plaintiffs in this Zostavax lawsuit says she received the shingles vaccine in 2013, and claims it ultimately led to a persistent strain of herpes zoster in 2016. This is the exact same virus that the Zostavax vaccine is intended to prevent.

Those patients who experienced this type of shingles vaccine reaction may have had to undergo additional medical treatment and pay medical expenses associated with side effects they never anticipated. Many of the patients who have chosen to participate in the shingles vaccine reaction lawsuit were ultimately diagnosed with shingles sometime after receiving the vaccine.

Some of these plaintiffs have come together to lodge a shingles vaccine reaction lawsuit, alleging that the manufacturer of the vaccine did not do appropriate testing in order to determine the side effects and led patients to believe that they would be protected from shingles outbreaks.

Any patient who has experienced an adverse shingles vaccine reaction about which they were never warned, including a diagnosis of shingles itself, should consider participating in a negligence lawsuit against the manufacturers of Zostavax.

The Zostavax Shingles Vaccine Reaction Lawsuit is Case No. 8:18-cv-01032-VMC-JSS, filed in the Circuit Court for the 13th Judicial Circuit for Hillsborough County, Florida.
